Villa weeks are PRC’s bread and butter. Renovated stone villas across Hvar, Korčula, Vis, the Konavle valley and the Istrian hill towns hosting 20-50 people for a week, with one or two “actual party” nights baked into the schedule. The brief is almost always the same: make this feel like an event without it feeling like a wedding production company set up the gear.

The 80% solution

The Villa Sundowner package is what we send to the majority of bookings: two Bose S1 Pro+ paired in stereo + DDJ-FLX4 controller. Plug-and-play, looks clean, battery-powered (so no cables across the terrace), 11-hour runtime so it covers cocktails-to-late.

It’s not the loudest setup we offer, but it’s the right setup for 20-50 people on a villa terrace with neighbours within shouting distance.

Two of our busiest villa zones have their own write-ups worth reading before you pick gear: what a daily budget actually buys on Hvar under a 23:00 noise curfew, and when the Dubrovnik delivery fee starts making sense on a week-long booking.

When to step up

  • Group of 60-100? Add a third speaker or move to mains-powered options. Tell us at booking — sometimes we’ll suggest a different setup entirely. If there’s still no socket near the terrace, the JBL EON ONE MK2 is the battery box that gets genuinely louder instead of just adding another speaker to the pile.
  • Real birthday / anniversary moment? The Birthday with the Lights package adds LED PAR uplights + smoke. It’s the difference between “nice music in the background” and “the night we’ll remember.” Add a pair of Cameo MOVO BEAM Z 100 moving heads when the brief is openly “make it look like a club” — they’re on request with about a week’s notice, so ask early.
  • Guest DJ on the booking? Step up the controller to the Pioneer DDJ-1000 or DDJ-REV5. Both are club-style layouts that a working DJ will know how to use without instructions — our side-by-side of the FLX4, DDJ-1000 and REV5 walks through which one suits which kind of DJ. With two or three people in the group taking turns, the four-channel Pioneer DDJ-FLX6-GT is the easier handover.
  • Wedding at the villa? Different problem entirely. Ceremony, speeches and reception each need their own answer — see wedding sound equipment rental rather than booking a party rig and hoping.

What we don’t recommend

  • PA system at a villa with neighbours. The XPRS-class PA we used to rent is now archived for the self-serve catalogue — it requires real setup and produces real volume that produces real noise complaints. Stick to the battery rigs.
  • Anything requiring a sound check. If a setup needs a sound check, it’s not the right rental for a villa party. We chose every active item in our catalogue specifically because it doesn’t need one. We’re dry hire — no DJ, no engineer, no stage build, so gear that only sounds right with a technician behind it is the wrong booking with us and we’d rather say that now.

Aesthetic note

Stone villas + black plastic speakers on poles = ugly. The LD Maui 5 GO is the column-array option for bookings where the space is the visual focus — it disappears into the room better than a square box on a stand.

Same logic applies to lighting. Thin beams cutting across a stone terrace look like a school disco; colour washed across the walls and the olive trees looks like the villa was meant to be lit that way. A pair of Eurolite TMH-X4 zoom washes does the second thing, and they pair with the LED PARs rather than competing with them.

FAQ

Villa parties — common questions

Will the gear bother the neighbors?

Battery speakers + indoor smoke + LED lights at conversational levels are fine for most villas. If you want loud after 10pm, check your villa contract — Croatian noise law is enforced after 11pm in residential areas.

Can I use the villa pool area?

Yes — but keep electronics away from splash zones. Battery speakers at the edge of a pool deck are fine; mains-powered gear in pool-splash range is not.

How do I plan for a 30-person party?

Villa Sundowner package (2× Bose S1 Pro+ + DJ controller + mic) handles 30-50 people comfortably. For 60+, double the speaker setup or upgrade to JBL PartyBox 710.

Will my villa host let us use this gear?

Most villa hosts are fine with rented DJ gear. Sparklers / smoke / strobe lights — always ask first. Some villas explicitly ban smoke machines due to fire-alarm + ceiling-stain risk.
