The “we rented an apartment in Split and want to throw a proper night for our friends” booking. Smaller than a villa week, more interesting than a yacht trip, harder to plan because city apartments come with noise complaints, neighbour-shaped problems, and one electrical outlet behind the couch.
The straightforward setup
For 10-25 people in a city apartment or rooftop, a single Bose S1 Pro+ + Pioneer DDJ-FLX4 does everything you need. Battery means you can pull the speaker onto the terrace without an extension cord. Bluetooth pairs in 30 seconds for the moment before the DJ takes over.
For groups bigger than 25 or rooftops larger than a city apartment terrace, pair two Bose S1 Pro+ for stereo coverage — the Villa Sundowner package works for house parties too. If you’d rather have one loud box than two stands and a stereo pair, the JBL PartyBox 310 is the cheaper wheeled alternative: splashproof for pool-edge use, 18-hour battery, and it rolls between rooms in one trip.
If whoever’s playing wants more than two channels or a club-style layout, the full range of DJ equipment we rent in Croatia goes up to four-deck controllers and standalone decks — but be honest about whether anyone in the group will actually use them.
What to know about urban Croatian rentals
- Noise complaints in Split / Hvar Town / Dubrovnik old town are real. Battery-powered speakers are quieter than venue PAs but can still cross the line. Keep volume reasonable, especially after midnight.
- One outlet, one room. Battery gear means you don’t need to fight for the kitchen plug.
- The host gets blamed. If you’re the Airbnb host renting on behalf of guests, set expectations with them about volume and timing before they arrive.
Add the party props
For birthdays and milestone moments — even smaller house gatherings benefit from a sparkler / popper / smoke flare add-on. Costs €30-80 for a small consumables pack, and turns a Tuesday night into a real event.
Indoors, the lighting matters more than the props. A sound-reactive RGB laser makes a plain living room look like somewhere you’d pay to get into — but only if there’s something in the air for the beams to land on, which is where the compact Antari Z-1000X MK3 smoke machine comes in. It’s the small-room sibling of our Z-1500: same output character, much easier to tuck behind a sofa in an apartment. Check where the smoke alarms are before you fire it.
Delivery
Most house party rentals are in the Split area, which means €60 city-only van delivery or free pickup from our depot. Greater Split doorstep is €100, Trogir €140 and Brač €160 with the ferry — all with a same-day option if you message before noon. Since Split is our home zone, it’s also where the same budget buys the most gear — the Split gear guide broken down by group size has the exact rigs we’d send for 10, 25 and 50 people.
For house parties outside Split, see the relevant zone page for delivery prices.
