Istria’s the peninsula in the north — closer to Trieste and Venice than to Dubrovnik, with vineyards, hilltop towns and a slightly Italianate feel. The party scene is concentrated in Pula (which has hosted Dimensions and Outlook festivals historically), with quieter villa weeks elsewhere.
What people rent in Istria
Villa weeks in Rovinj, Poreč, the hill towns. Often longer rentals, often combined with wine tours. Villa Sundowner is the default — clean, light, no fuss.
Birthdays and milestone events. Istria gets a lot of “let’s do something different” group bookings — destination birthdays, anniversary weeks, group reunions. Birthday with the Lights makes regular trips up.
Smaller festivals. Pula’s Arena hosts events, smaller venues run season-long programs. We’ve serviced a handful of these — if you’re a promoter looking at a 200-cap event, contact us directly.
Best months
May through September for outdoor everything. Pula nightlife runs latest, hill-town wine season is best in late summer / early autumn.
Delivery & logistics
Istria is the longest drive from our Split base — about 5 hours each way via the A1 and A7. We strongly suggest week-long rentals to make the trip worth it; one-night rentals to Istria rarely make economic sense.
We can also coordinate with Italian-side rental partners if you’re moving across from Trieste — ask at booking.
