Zrće week villa pre-game checklist (2026 guide)
The 7-day Zrće week routine, the pre-game gear that actually matters, and the five stupid mistakes lads' weeks make every season. Novalja-tested, written by the people who deliver the gear.
You’ve booked the villa in Novalja. You’ve got the flights. You’ve got eight to sixteen mates on a WhatsApp group called something like “PAG PAGS PAG 🇭🇷” and one of them keeps posting Reels about Aquarius.
What you don’t have, yet, is sound at the villa.
This is the guide we wish every group read before they landed at Zadar at 3am with no controller, no speaker, and no plan for the rooftop.
The 7-day Zrće week, hour by hour
The reason gear matters more than people think is that Zrće isn’t the only thing happening that week. Zrće opens late. The interesting daytime hours — the pool, the rooftop, the pre-drinks — are all back at the villa. Here’s the actual rhythm of a Pag week:

The pre-game window (19:00–22:00) is where the week gets made or wasted. Three hours of music + people + photos + first drinks on your terms, not the bar’s. This is what the gear is for.
What we actually rent for Zrće weeks
Every lads’ week and girls’ week is different but the gear stack is almost identical. Here’s what 80% of Novalja groups end up with.
The default rig: Zrće Pre-Drinks package — €100/day
The Zrće Pre-Drinks package is the most-rented item on the Pag run. One JBL PartyBox 710 (800W, built-in lights, wheels, splashproof) + one Pioneer DDJ-FLX4 controller for whoever in the group calls themselves a DJ.
- €100/day or €420 for the full week — which is what most groups take.
- Loud enough for a 30-person villa with a rooftop terrace.
- The PartyBox runs on battery for 6 hours if you don’t want to drag a cable to the pool.
- Wheels means one person can move it from living room to terrace to poolside without crying.
- The DDJ-FLX4 plugs into the PartyBox via a single 3.5mm jack. No DJ booth needed — sit it on the kitchen counter.
Bigger / louder option: JBL PartyBox 710 standalone — €110/day
Same speaker as above, without the controller. For groups that just want to plug a phone into something genuinely loud. €110/day, €485/week.
The “lads, we need this for the photo” stack
- MAGIC FX DJ Shotgun — €50/day. Handheld confetti cannon. Pull the trigger when the drop hits. Refillable.
- EG18 colored smoke grenade pack (4×) — €80, you keep the pack. Pull-pin smoke flares for the rooftop photo at sunset. Pick four colors. Do not light indoors and do not throw at people.
- Indoor sparkler bundle (50×) — €55, you keep them. 45cm low-smoke EU-compliant indoor sparklers. For the cake, the bottle service moment, the 1am post-Zrće return.
- Sennheiser EW-D wireless mic — €75/day. For the Best Man speech, the toast, the “right we’re going to Zrće” announcement.
The 5 stupid mistakes every Zrće group makes
We do this every weekend from June to September. The same five things go wrong on repeat.
1. Don’t book the gear at all
“We’ll just use my JBL Flip.” Mate, the Flip is a phone-with-extra-steps. It will not move thirty people on a rooftop at 8pm. You will spend the trip with the speaker held up to people’s ears.
2. Book it too late
We deliver to Pag from our Split base — 3 hours each way over the Pag bridge, €220 doorstep delivery (see Pag delivery zone). In peak Hideout / Sonus / Fresh Island weeks, the PartyBox 710s are pre-booked 4-6 weeks out. Reserve at the same time you book the villa. Not the night before you fly.
3. Leave the speaker in the rain at 4am
The PartyBox 710 is splashproof, not submersion-proof. We’ve had groups bring the speaker to Zrće (don’t), forget it on the rooftop in an August thunderstorm (don’t), and dunk it in the pool “for a laugh” (very don’t). The damage deposit on the PartyBox is €300. The pool one cost a group all of it.
4. Forget the 23:00 noise law
Croatia has a national quiet-hours rule from 23:00 to 07:00. Villa contracts in Novalja almost always reference this. By 23:00 you should be in a taxi to Zrće anyway, but if you’re still at the villa, drop the bass and close the doors. The Novalja police will visit a noise complaint and the villa owner will keep your deposit faster than you can say “but it’s a party week.”
5. Forget the deposit / ID for pickup
We need a passport scan and a card pre-authorization on the damage deposit. Sort it on the Stripe link the moment you book — not at handover at the villa gate with the driver waiting and your housemate still asleep in the back bedroom.
The festivals that bracket the week
Most Zrće weeks line up with one of three festivals:
- Hideout Festival — June 30 – July 3, 2026. House / UK-garage / drum & bass. UK-heavy crowd, kick-off of the Croatian summer. Confirmed dates.
- Sonus Festival — August. Deep house and techno. The more discerning end of the Zrće calendar.
- Fresh Island — hip-hop / R&B / Afrobeats festival on Pag. Discontinued — no confirmed 2026 edition. If you’ve seen old TikToks about it, that’s why. Don’t book flights around a festival that isn’t running.
If you’re going to Hideout or Sonus, you’re at Zrće four nights out of seven. The other three nights are the pre-game window the gear is built for.
What it actually costs end-to-end
For a 7-day Zrće week in Novalja, 12 people, default setup:

That’s €64.50 per person for the week, for the gear that powers the actual best three hours of every day.
For comparison, one night out at Aquarius with bottle service is €120 per head before drinks. The gear pays for itself before Wednesday.
